No matter if you are completely confused and do not know what to do treatment or if you just have a few questions: We take time for you and find the right treatment together with you.
We differentiate between outpatient, day clinic and inpatient treatment and also offer outreach psychiatric services and counselling.
This can mean going to a consultation with a specialist once a week on an outpatient basis, taking part in a therapy program five times a week during the day or being cared for around the clock in the clinic. Under certain circumstances, the treatment may also take place on an outreach basis at your home.
Will regular outpatient consultations help me find my way again?
The most important means of regaining stability in a mental illness are therapeutic discussions. In most cases, it is sufficient if these therapy discussions take place in an outpatient setting, e.g. weekly. Talk therapy and other forms of treatment usually take place in an individual setting, i.e. between patient and therapist. There are also outpatient group therapies and, depending on the problem, couple and family therapies can also be useful.

Is intensive treatment in the clinic the right thing to do now?
Can you no longer cope with your everyday tasks at work and in your family? Are you out of mental balance and know neither in nor out? In the clinic you will find intensive treatment, away from your usual living environment, away from everything. In the case of pronounced symptoms of illness, stressful social environment or in the case of self-endangerment, inpatient treatment with round-the-clock care may be necessary and useful for you.

Would a daily structure be good for me?
In the day clinics of Psychiatry St.Gallen, as an adult with mental illness, you will receive intensive treatment on a daily basis – individually and close to your home. The therapy programs serve to help you learn to cope with everyday life and, if necessary, to reintegrate into the work process. Thanks to the regular daily routine and targeted therapies individually or in a group, you will be able to stabilize yourself within a few weeks. As a patient, you continue to live at home, so you remain in your usual social environment.

What if I don’t have the strength to leave the house?
Then the treatment comes to your home. Depending on the case, doctors or nurses visit you as a patient in a mental crisis at home to treat you locally. We also offer outreach psychiatric services in retirement homes, nursing homes and residential homes as well as in institutions or hospitals.
